Waling-Waling

Euanthe Sanderiana or known as Waling-Waling in the Philippines. It is famous in Davao Region. It is also soon to be the National flower in the country. This flower is endemic in the region. Because of its beauty, the waling-waling is considered a diwata, and even worshipped by the natives of the region.

 

 

Vanda

Vanda is a genus in the orchid family which, although not large, is one of the most important florally. This genus and it allies are considered to be the most highly evolved of all orchids within Orchidaceae. Flowers are available in superbly rich colors, including blue, red, orange and yellow. The flower spikes, which usually carry 8 to 10 blooms, arise from the base of the leaves and last for several weeks.

 

 

Cattleya

Cattleya is a genus of 113 species of orchids from Costa Rica to tropical South America. Cattleya is widely known for their large, showy flower. It has earned the reputation as the “Queen of Orchids” and are known to the public as the ultimate in floral corsages.

Dendrobium known also as “Phalaenopsis Type” for its flower resembles those of the Phalaenopsis variety. It is a diverse genus of orchids with different cultural needs. They are evergreen with thin, tall stems (pseudobulbs).
